On 12 August 2025, the French-language news site Afrik.com published a six-minute feature by Antoine Ganne: “Boubker Benjelloun : l’architecte marocain qui révolutionne l’Afrique”. The article presents the founder of Benjelloun & Partners as part of a new generation of African entrepreneurs, combining landmark architecture in the Emirates with long-term philanthropy on the continent.
An unconventional path
Afrik.com traces his story from Morocco’s national swimming team to a career in dentistry in Paris, and then to a real estate opportunity in Morocco that brought him back to his first passion. The article describes an intuitive, emotional approach to design, with architecture used to tell stories.
The projects
The feature focuses on COMO Residences on Palm Jumeirah and its penthouse, whose AED 500 million sale set a new benchmark for Dubai’s luxury market, and on Solara Tower in Downtown Dubai, winner of the Innovation in Architecture Award 2025 at the Architecture Leaders Awards. It is illustrated with the studio’s Dubai Fashion Resort concept and the Museum of Humanity.
The B. Foundation
A large part of the article is given to The B. Foundation. Started in Morocco and now based in Ethiopia, the foundation has begun rebuilding one of the country’s poorest villages, with a focus on education, clean drinking water, food security and environmental regeneration, and plans to extend its work across Africa.
