On 1 August 2025, Commercial Interior Design published “Boubker Benjelloun on shaping emotion into architecture”, an interview by Misbaah Mansuri with the founder of Benjelloun & Partners. The magazine frames him as an architect who has never followed the script, and the conversation follows that thread from his early years as a swimmer to the studio’s most recent work.

Solara Tower: calm in the city

The interview opens with Solara Tower in Downtown Dubai, winner of the 2025 Innovation in Architecture Award at the Architecture Leaders Awards. Boubker explains that Solara was designed as a response to the intensity of urban life, using warm, tactile materials and a layout that reverses typical high-rise logic: compact homes at the base, opening up to larger residences and sky villas with private gardens and pools higher up.

“It’s not trying to compete with the skyline; it’s creating its own rhythm within it.”

COMO Residences: starting with a feeling

For COMO Residences on Palm Jumeirah, the process began with a sense of fluidity and movement inspired by the sea and sky. Every floor is slightly different, and the curved terraces both frame 360-degree views and shield residents from harsh light and wind, so that expression always serves the way people live.

Meta Stadium and studio culture

Boubker also discusses the concept for Meta Stadium, an elevated circular form wrapped in coloured bands and dynamic lighting, intended as a civic landmark that speaks to unity and belonging. He describes a studio culture built on trust and experimentation, where commercial realities are treated as part of the creative equation rather than a limit.

The B. Foundation

The interview ends with The B. Foundation, which he describes as a long-term commitment rather than charity, supporting education, clean water, food security and environmental regeneration in communities that are often overlooked.
