CW Property, the property title of Construction Week, published an interview with Boubker Benjelloun, founder of Benjelloun & Partners, architects in Dubai, on 13 August 2025: “Boubker Benjelloun on luxury living, signature design, and Dubai’s most ambitious projects”. In it, journalist Shehzin Shaikh asks how the studio was built, how it works across cultures and what it wants to leave behind.
How the practice began
Boubker explains that his route into architecture did not follow the traditional path. Years of building businesses, relationships and projects across industries and regions gave him a perspective that combines instinct with intention, and that became the foundation on which Benjelloun & Partners was built: spaces that carry meaning, serve people and leave a lasting impact.
COMO Residences and Solara Tower
Asked about defining projects, he points to COMO Residences on Palm Jumeirah, envisioned as a “Waterfall of the Greens” where vertical gardens soften the line between luxury living and nature, and to Solara Tower in Downtown Dubai, imagined as a meeting of Zen calm and contemporary elegance in one of the city’s busiest districts.
“…the core purpose of architecture remains the same: to serve human life.”
Consistency and context
The interview explores how the studio balances a consistent philosophy with local context. Each project starts with research into customs, climate, urban behaviour and social dynamics, so that materials, spatial rhythm and architectural language respond to the place while still carrying the studio’s identity.
Sustainability and The B. Foundation
On sustainability, Boubker describes environmental performance as a pillar of modern luxury rather than a compromise, with performance-based design, material transparency, local sourcing, water conservation and biophilic elements. He also talks about The B. Foundation, which reinvests a share of the practice’s success in community-led development across Africa and parts of Asia, including the reconstruction of a village in Ethiopia.
